STAY ON TOP OF YOUR GAME!
Unfortunately, we don't all live in hot, lush climes,
so winter can be quite a pain in the ass. Even if we'd be somewhere near the
seashore the water would be cold, daylight limited, not to speak about the
amount of kit that would be needed. Changing in freezing temperatures? Thanks,
but no thanks. Keeping the focus on surfing and staying motivated for warmer
month can be difficult. What to do? I've gathered some techniques to help you
stay on top of your game and fend off those winter blues.
The right kit
Having the best kit will help you to cope with the worst elements that winter can throw at you. Christmas marks the beginning of the colder stretch of winter in the northern hemisphere, so that would be a good time to pimp yourself up with some gloves, hoods, and boots. Nobody wants holes in their wetsuits or boots, right?
Short but sweet
It's easy to surf for hours in summer, but in the winter you get colder quicker, which will affect your ability to perform. As soon as you get out of the car, go for a gentle jog and stretch to warm yourself up. Pull your suit on as quickly as possible and get out there! Tip: if you're using a beach not too far from home then get some decent seat covers so that you can drive home in your wetsuit and get changed in the warm.
Go for shorter sessions and aim to catch more waves and bust more moves – time your session to get the best out of the tide, wind and crowd conditions. Have a dry wetsuit; it'll be much easier to get going.
Having a target to achieve
Goal setting will help you to improve your surfing: it's a great way to maintain drive in any sport. Set yourself some motivational goals like aiming to surf at least four times a week (if you can), or just doing some exercise that will help you to improve surfing tricks (do it five times per week). Run for that extra mile each week, just keep on improving and moving! Having a target to achieve will definitely increase your motivation and give you loads of satisfaction when you achieve your goal!

ALL-NATURAL SURFING BEAUTY
I did a little research and came up with some tips, tricks and natural suggestions on how to combat some of the problems we all have: crazy skin and hair after surf sessions.
Your skin – the only thing that may not improve in the life of a surfer babe. Exposed to the wind, sun, and salt water, we have to take proper care of it. Luckily, there are steps you can follow in order to avoid that skin suffering. Always rinse your face with fresh water as soon as possible after your surf session. Salt water dries out the skin, so make sure you always have that extra bottle of fresh water with you. While drinking, splash it all over your face and hair.
A radiant boosting complexion requires the right diet. Great skin boosters are:
- Vitamin A: carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, and broccoli;
- Vitamin B: hazelnuts, almonds;
- Blueberries: one of the "super foods", full of antioxidants;
- Fish oil: helps nourish your skin and makes it soft like a baby's bottom.
To replenish your skin on a daily basis, try the "lime juice formula".
- Add the juice of one lime to a glass of boiled milk and stir it with a teaspoon of glycerine. Stir well and leave it to rest for about a half an hour, then apply to your face before hitting the bed.
- If you suffer with oily skin try mixing the same juice of one lemon with ice water, splash it onto your face and massage it for 5 minutes before rinsing it off.
- To treat dry and rough skin, add one egg yolk and a few drops of lime and a tablespoon of olive oil, apply to your face and leave it to dry completely before rinsing it off with cold water.
- To bring dull and greasy skin back to life mix ½ teaspoon of lime juice and one teaspoon of cucumber oil with a few drops of rose water. Apply to face and leave it for 15 minutes before rinsing off.
- Tired eyes? No problemos. Simply add 4 teaspoons of lime juice to a cup of iced water. Saturate 2 cotton wool pads in the mixture and place them over your closed (you'll suffer if your eyes are still open ;)) for 10 minutes.
- For puffy eyes try putting 2 used but cold teabags over each eye for 10 minutes.
But remember: plenty of water, lots of raw fruit and vegetables. You are what you eat! And surely: what goes into your body is reflected on the outside.
That was something little about the skin. What about your hair? Sun and salt water can fade and damage your hair by drying it out and making it look extremely dull and brittle. Make sure you always rinse them with water after surfing – as soon as possible. If there are no showers where you are just take enough water with you to have some to tip over your head. Remember that excessive washing strips your hair of its natural oils!
- Rub a small amount of your usual hair conditioner into the ends of your hair and don't wash it out. Leave it there while you surf and it will form a barrier, preventing the salt from damaging your precious hair.
- To tame extremely frizzy hair, try rubbing a small amount of coconut oil into your hair, but not too much – it will make it extremely greasy. Remember, the coconut oil will not protect you from the sun!
- Try to add essential oils such as ylang ylang to your shampoo and conditioned as a way of rejuvenating your hair.
- If you're fed up with waiting for your hair to grow, try applying ylang ylang mixed with rosemary oil. It's believed to stimulate hair growth. If not, it's always worth trying ;)!
Hope it helps!

GO GREEN OR GO HOME
This time I want to talk about all the
highs and lows of surfing's interaction with the environment. We all know who
provides us with waves to surf, right? It's the all mighty Mother Nature. Do
surfers ever return the favour to the nature? They should and they do. Keep on
reading.
Climate changes do exist; if you think that it's only a myth, than do some more researching. I think it's better to believe in the link between climate change and mankind's carbon pollution so we can all try to oppose it as soon as possible. It's fighting against it or finding out later that humans have caused climate change and that it's already too late to do anything.
Surfers are the ones that are usually attracted to the idea that we are affecting the climate through our carbon emissions. After all, surfers are greatly connected with nature – there would be absolutely no surfing happening if not for the sake of it. That's why we feel empowered in ensuring that global warming doesn't get out of hand. Just think of the rising sea levels that will make that low tide reef you love work less often. If you think about it, isn't surfing a luxury? If we'll reach a point where carbon spending is properly regulated and monitored, how will you prioritize a new surfboard compared to hot water or electricity for your home? The thing is, if we become more carbon scrupulous our hobbies will have to become more "green" or they'll get left behind.
There is still hope though. Surfing indirect and direct carbon emissions can be made more continual. That means meeting the needs of the resent without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It means making products using clean low carbon renewable energy; using natural materials that are grown in an environmentally sensitive way; optimizing manufacturing process to reduce waste and indirect environmental damage; recycling and reusing anything we can. In fact, there are so many little tiny changes that we, as surfers, can make to be greener within our favourite sport. But surely, the first thing is to become aware of when and how our carbon footprint is being created so we can actively try to reduce it.
By understanding the synergy between surfers and the environment multiple steps can be taken to reverse the negative effects of surfing and to applause the positive impact being made by surfers and surd companies. For instance, check out the Decarbonated Consultancy, which is a company on a mission to make the extreme sports industry environmentally sound.
Will you go green too? Or at least think about it? Our precious Mother Nature will be grateful and proud, and it's only fair to return all the glorious favours back to her.

EAT YOUR WAY INTO SURFING
One of the best decisions any athlete can make is a commitment to make wise nutrition choices. Sports nutrition isn't just a fancy college course anymore. Like any strenuous exercise, knowing what to eat before and after surfing is just as important as your efforts on the waves. Knowing what your body needs will lay the groundwork for a good session every time out.
PRE-SURF
Your body will need the energy to sustain a marathon session or to simply function well enough to perform at a high level for an extended period of time. Now is not the time to be scared of carbohydrates or calories, ladies! It's important to put some gas in your tank before you slide into water. The trick to proper surfing nutrition is to know which foods to consume and which to avoid.
One important food characteristic is the time your body needs to break it down into energy. Ninety minutes before a workout of any kind, but especially high energy ones like surfing, it's a good idea to put down some food with a low glycemic index (GI). This means the foods break down more slowly and will provide energy stores over a longer time frame. This group of food includes most fruits and vegetables (except potatoes & watermelon), grainy breads, pasta, milk, and products extremely low in carbohydrates, brown rice. Medium GI foods include whole wheat products, sweet potato, table sugar, and most white rices.
Awesome pre-surf meals:
· Breakfast burrito with whole grain tortilla, eggs, ham, cheese, black beans;
· Whole grain Cheerios (or any home-made granola) with milk and an apple;
· Peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread and some mixed nuts;
· A slice of whole wheat bread with peanut butter and sliced banana rolls on top of it.
POST-SURF
As most of us know, the post surf meal is one to relish. Let it all out (the hunger, I mean)! Is there anything like post surf hunger? Not that I know of. This is when it's good for you to eat proteins, to help your muscles recover. Another brilliant thing are carbs (yeah girl, you've heard that right) that replenish your energy stores. Eating 30-60 minutes after exercise will provide the most benefit due to an increased production of enzymes needed to store energy and build muscle.
Foods high on the GI index will quickly replenish energy stores after surfing. These include corn chips, corn flakes, waffles, potatoes, watermelon, croissants, white bread, doughnuts and straight glucose. Although some items are good after exercise, is best to follow a diet with low GI foods if you're into a healthy lifestyle. Nutritionists have tied repeated glycemic "spikes" to an increased risk of diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer. Lesson learned: high GI is acceptable after exercise, but not for lunch at the office.
Awesome post-surf meals:
· Turkey and cheese sandwich on white bread with some watermelon and corn chips;
· Waffles with syrup, hash browns, and sausage links;
· Baked potatoe, white rice, and chicken breast.
Remember, sports nutrition is an important aspect to any athlete's lifestyle. Surfers are especially prone to poor nutrition due to early morning dawn patrols, three hour sessions, and low budgets. Use the tips above to keep yourself healthy, full of energy, and ready for that second (or third) session!

INSPIRATIONAL SATURDAY
Click for larger image.
Inspirational Saturday time, everybody! Let's put some art into surfing and everything that goes with it, shall we? Big ideas, big colours, a brighter and better new world. Billabong's taps into internationally renowned artist Maya Hayuk's kaleidoscopic vision, with a collaboration that delivers limited edition bikinis, bags and tees bursting with intimate colour, feminine symmetry and pure fun. Keep on reading and learn more about it!
Maya Hayuk. She's a muralist, painter, photographer, curator, writer, printmaker, performer, video maker, documentarian … The list could obviously go on. She lives in Brooklyn, New York by way of San Francisco, Baltimore, Boston and Toronto.
Video about Maya on Youtube.
Maya's work is kaleidoscopic, incredibly optimistic and prismatic. Whether on canvas, spanning massive industrial building walls, or for projects with artists like The Flaming Lips, Rye Rye/M.I.A., The Akron Family and TV on the Radio, her vision is bold, ambitious and open-hearted. Her collaboration with Billabong has produced a limited edition series of bikinis, bags and tees that reflect this unique vision.
Her paintings are massively scaled murals that recall views of outer space, traditional Ukranian crafts, airbrushed manicures, and mandals; all with their symmetrical compositions, intricate patterns, and lush colours. Hayuk weaves visual information from her immediate surroundings into her elaborate abstractions, creating an engaging mix of referents from popular culture and advanced painting practices while connecting to the ongoing pursuit of psychedelic experience in visual form.
"I think symmetry leads itself so naturally to the human form," said Hayuk. "The designs for Billabong feature the V or chevron shape, which is very flattering, feminine and powerful." She cites a spectrum of influences for a design range that bursts bright with a positive intensity.
"The paintings that collaboration are based on were inspired by the colours of a coral reef, outer space, positive energy, power-shapes and repeating geometry. I found it exciting to help create an object and clothing that empowers the person holding or carrying it. I do believe in this kind of magic."
You like it? I sure do!

SUPER BIKINI: SUPERKINI
Click for larger image.
Have you ever experienced those über embarrassing beach moments, twirling and showing off some private body parts due to unsecure bikinis? I sure have and let me tell you: it's not pleasant (or fun) at all.
Revolutionising the swimwear market back in 2011, the O'Neill Superkini remains the most innovative bikini to date. The Superkini combines eye catching brights with standout patterns, looks great and most importantly, it stays put. It's a technically advanced bikini, which means it's gonna stay in place no matter what the ocean waves throw your way. A revolutionary and super-comfortable material called "nanofront" works its magic for the Superkini by generating even greater frictional force when wet, ensuring minimal bikini slippage and movement in rough seas.
Endorsed by professional surfer Malia Manuel, the Superkini sticks to the body no matter what. She's a big fan since the launch of the bikinis + someone who knows the importance of swimwear staying powers more than anyone. Maria comments: "In all honesty, I can't imagine how I survived without it."
Offering confidence and style, Superkini should be in every ones beach closet.

STOP, TAKE A DEEP BREATH & GO WITH THE FLOW
Click for larger photo.
As you probably already know, there are more than just spiritual benefits of yoga. Yoga also complements the flexibility and power you need to have maximum fun and prevent injuries when surfing. I've gathered 7 poses that will make your arms and back stronger, help you avoid the nagging lower back pain (which is so common among surfers), and maybe help you to look hotter in those bikinis.
Disclaimer: I'm far from being a professional yogi/athlete, so the following poses could be performed better. I hope you'll get the picture.
Ready, girls? Let's kick it!
1. EAGLE POSE:
Benefits: This'll stretch your upper back and shoulders. It's essential before and after long paddling sessions, especially on windy days.
How: After extending your arms in front of you, cross your right arm above your left in front of your torso, bend your elbows, and rest the right elbow on the left elbow's crook. With your forearms perpendicular to the floor, press your palms together, and continue to lift your elbows to feel more of the stretch. Switch sides after 15-30 seconds.
2. SQUAT:
Benefits: Opens up the hip flexors and strengthens the back. It's great for preventing hip cramping when sitting with spread legs for a while.
How: Separate your feet wide enough so you can squat comfortably between them. If this hurts your knees, support your seat with a bolster, and if your heels come off the ground, place a rolled up towel beneath them. Placing your hands in prayer, press your elbows into your thighs to open your chest and hips. Hold for 60 seconds.
3. FOUR – LIMBED STAFF POSE:
Benefits: Your pop-ups will improve like nobody's business!
How: From a plank position with your wrists lined up with your chest lower your body to a hover over the floor while keeping your back flat, your elbows hugging your sides and engaging your abdominals. Hold the hover for 10-30 seconds and repeat from plank pose.
4. LOCUS POSE:
Benefits: Strengthens the spinal and gluteal muscles, backs of arms and legs. Stretches shoulders and chest. Non-aggressive back bends help you to build the spinal support for all the back-arching that surfers do when paddling for waves and looking behind them.
How: Lie on your belly and place palms on the floor next to your chest. Without gripping your buttock muscles, lift your head, upper torso, and legs off the floor on an inhale. Use your hands as gentle support so that your weight is on your lower ribs, belly and pelvis. Reach trough your legs to not crunch your lower back and hold for 10-30 seconds. Repeat three to four times.
5. BOAT POSE:
Benefits: Strengthens core and stretches back muscles. While good for overall strength, this pose will help with deep breathing and focus.
How: While sitting up, use your hands to center your weight between your sit-bones and the tailbone. Place your hands right behind your seat to open your chest and flatten your back. Engaging your core muscles, lift your feet off the ground. Keep your chest open and legs straight, then slowly work towards the toes before you lift your hands off the ground. Try to touch your toes for the final push. Hold for 20-30 seconds. Repeat three to four times.
6. HAPPY BABY POSE:
Benefits: This pose releases tight hips and back muscles. Oh, yeah, you'll probably look silly doing this in public, but half of yoga is to turn your focus inward, so forget about the others and just breathe.
How: Lie on your back, bend your knees towards your torso, lift your feet off the ground and grab them. Open your knees wider than your torso and try to push your tailbone towards the ground while moving your knees towards your armpits. Hold for 60 seconds. For the twist, release your feet and let both knees fall to the right side of your body while looking over your left shoulder. After 60 seconds, repeat on the other side.
7. HEADSTAND:
Benefits: Headstand stimulates and provides refreshed blood to the pituitary and hypothalamus glands. These glands are vital to our wellbeing and are considered the master glands that regulate all other glands in the body (thyroid, pineal and adrenals). It will also strengthen those deep core muscles.
How:
1. Use a folded blanket to pad your head and forearms. Kneel on the floor. lace your fingers together and set the forearms on the floor, elbows at shoulders width. Roll the upper arms slightly outward, but press the inner wrists firmly into the floor. Set the crown of your head on the floor. If you're just beginning to practice this pose, press the bases of your palms together and snuggle the back of your head against the clasped hands.
2. Inhale and lift your knees off the floor. Carefully walk your feet closer to your elbows, heels elevated. Actively lift trough the top thighs, forming an inverted "V". Firm the shoulder blades against your back and lift them toward the tailbone to the front torso stays as long as possible. This should help prevent the weight of the shoulders collapsing onto your neck and head.
3. Exhale and lift your feet away from the floor. Take both feet up at the same time, even if it means bending your knees and hopping lightly off the floor. As the legs (or thighs, if your knees are bent) rise to perpendicular to the floor, firm the tailbone against the back of the pelvis. Turn the upper thighs in slightly, and actively press the heels toward the ceiling (straightening the knees if you bent them to come up). The center of the arches should align over the center of the pelvis, which in turn should align over the crown of the head.
4. Firm the outer arms inward, and soften the fingers. Continue to press the shoulder blades against the back, widen them, and draw them toward the tailbone. Keep the weight evenly balanced on the two forearms. It's also essential that your tailbone continues to lift upward toward the heels. Once the backs of the legs are fully lengthened through the heels, maintain that length and press up through the balls of the big toes so the inner legs are slightly longer than the outer.
5. As a beginning practitioner stay for 10 seconds. Gradually add 5 to 10 seconds onto your stay every day or so until you can comfortably hold the pose for 3 minutes. Then continue for 3 minutes each day for a week or two, until you feel relatively comfortable in the pose. Again gradually add 5 to 10 seconds onto your stay every day or so until you can comfortably hold the pose for 5 minutes. Come down with an exhalation, without losing the lift of the shoulder blades, with both feet touching the floor at the same time.
So, my dear surfer girls, it's time to stretch it all out, wax up the surf and enjoy!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
ELSIE PINNINGER: NEON WETSUITS
Wetsuit drama. Do they really have to be all black, maybe with a little grey stitching here and there? Do they always have to look more or less the same? Absolutely not. Let's talk about Neon Wetsuits, a cool, open-minded British wetsuit company, designed for more fun under the sun.
Neon is known for its deviations from the norms; their wetsuits are born from the love of surfing, colours and designs variations. Elsie Pinninger (surfer, craftswoman, artist, and producer) is doing things the way she wants and does not bow to any form or cut. Functionality, simplicity and effectiveness are the keys, whereas the appearance can be as bright as the owner desires. With a studio based in Newquay, Cornwall, situated on the South-West Coast of UK, Neon Wetsuits were primarily created to be both high-performance and very stylish. Following Elsie's frustration in finding a suit she wanted, she decided to make her own, and therefore learnt the craft from some of the UK's leading wetsuit makers.
Talented Elsie has been making bespoke suits for fellow surfers with the brand growing organically within the surf scene via good word of mouth. Because of the growing demand for her stylish suits and increasing popularity of her signature use of colours and cut, Elsie is now launching a full collection of wetsuit swimsuits and separates, which are available in her online store where colours are fully customisable. Hooray, finally! The range consists of high-wasted surf pants, sleeveless and long sleeve wetsuits for women, and long-john suits and vests for men.
Originally designed with surfers in mind, the functionality and performance side of the designs are of course extremely important; the suits don't come off or reveal the body when surfing. The neoprene will also protect against bruising your hips and ribs on the surfboard. The suits are also great for swimmers as the neoprene will keep the body warmer. The fabric and a clever use of cut and colour are highly flattering for many body shapes too, so everyone gets what they really want. All the suits are made from 2mm neoprene, all parts are glued together and later blind-stitched. Elsie designs and handcrafts all the suits in her studio, overlooking the sea in Cornwall.
At the beginning of this year Neon even appeared in Vogue as one of the stylish specialist labels to look out for. With the launch of the Neon website in March, things are definitely on the rise for the talented Miss Elsie.

PREP YOUR BODY FOR AN ACTIVE SUMMER
June 29, 2013
What is the best way to start a new exciting project? Writing about your own passions and interests for sure. I've decided to combine yoga and surfing – two of my biggest passions. In today's post I will introduce you with a few simple tips for yoga success, which will definitely help you on your surf.
As surfing and adventure friends, surf girls continue to push boundaries and exceed limits. But it's important to find a balance, to listen to our bodies, and honour it without pushing it over the edge. Whether it's trailblazing trough the woods or taking on beach boot camps, our muscles experience a tremendous amount of shortening, pounding, and tightening. When we do not restore, elongate, and stretch these muscles, imbalances and injuries occur. Yoga is a powerful tool that will not only help us develop better body awareness and balance, but it's the best way to prevent muscle overuse and injury.
Just breathe
Breathing is one of the most important parts of yoga. Remember to consciously breathe as you stretch your muscles into each pose. Try the four-count breathing – four counts while breathing in, then hold for four counts, and four counts while breathing out. Feel your belly rise and fill your lungs at the same time for a deeper breath. If you can, set aside 30 minutes a day to calm yourself, find your center and clear your mind.
Anyone can do it
Yoga isn't an assignment or a burden as some people think. You don't have to be the hardcore athlete to get a good stretch in. Downward dog is an easy pose that is great for lengthening your hamstrings and extending your vertebrae. Simply plant your hands on the ground while pressing your hips high and yearning your heels for the mat.
For those who want that extra push: try and add lifting one leg high up behind you and keep your hips squared to the mat for three-legged dog. Breathe in to lift, and then out to lengthen while releasing your shoulders down from your ears. This will deepen the stretch and set you up to move into half pigeon or runners lunge, which are great hip openers.
Once you start making yoga or even just a few quick stretches a habitual part of your day will notice an increasingly heightened state of awareness as well as a nice reward for all the hard work you put into your outdoor workouts. Not only does my practice elongate my muscles and strengthen my core, but I also find peace and inspiration, which puts a positive spin on my day.
Oh, great news: you don't need much to do yoga, but if you want to make it a bit more fun and girlie, check the collage below for some cool yoga finds!

Week 12 - Combating the Sun
Like skin hair can be seriously damaged as well. The natural highlights you just received are actual damage to your strands. The explanation behind your natural highlights is the hair shaft was damaged therefore could not retain its natural pigment. But there is something you can do to protect your hair from all of those sun kisses and prolong the health of your hair on any sunny day.
Moisture: Keeping hair well moisturized and placing conditioner in your hair without rinsing it out or a leave in will keep damage at a minimum or at a bay.
UV Protection: Using an SPF of 25 and diluting the UV protection with water. An easy travel tip is to mix 3 teaspoons of UV protection with a cup and a ½ of water and place in a spray bottle and shake.
Stay away from alcohol and lemon based products: Peroxide, alcohol and lemon based products will cause your strands to dry out at a much faster rate and trigger or aid in the oxidation of your strands at higher levels.
Updo or Wrap it Up: Protecting those strands by wearing a headwrap or updo style such as a bun can prevent major damage from the sun.

3 Tbsp. Honey
Pour six cups of boiling water on herbs and steep for ten to fifteen minutes. Cool to room temperature. Add lemon slice after cooling. Add honey and stir. Add crushed ice if you’d like to have your tea iced. Enjoy!
Summer will return soon. We promise ;)

Week 8
Black spots on the nose are one of the most annoying skin problems. The skin of the nose is very sensitive so you might want to try some home remedies to get rid of it.
We tried and loved this home remedy ... All you need is half a lemon and some drops of honey. Rub the lemon with honey on black heads prone areas (like nose, chin etc.). Leave this mixture on your face for 5 minutes. Then wash it with cold water.
Beware that lemon juice will fade other marks or spots on your face!

Week 5
Olive oil is rich in antioxidants, which may help reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases, like Alzheimer’s. But instead of using extra virgin oils for dressings and marinades, use it for brilliant hair.
If you need some help to mend split ends (a common surfer girl problem at the end of beach season) rub olive oil into the ends of hair. After 30 min shampoo it as usual.
Another miracle of nature is raw apple cider vinegar. Combine 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar with a cup of water and use the mixture after shampooing. Don’t forget to rinse at the end. You don’t want to walk around with lingering vinegar aroma!
Any bottle of beer left after the party? Put it aside for the shower. For added volume and shine, rinse wet hair with a tepid beer.

Week 4
Being a surf girl usually means liking tattoos. But when it comes to a point of deciding what and where and which colour, we are overwhelmed by possibilities and bounded by imagining how it will look when leaving tatoo shop.
Here's the trick. Create your own temporary tattoo to experiment what looks good on your body.
Use a gel pen in dark colour and paper (tracing paper or parchment paper) to draw the design. Place the paper with design on the spot where you want your tattoo to be and press wet piece of cloth firmly on the tattoo design for 30 sec. Slowly peel up the paper and let the design air dry. Take care not to brush it against clothing. Once water is applied it will start to wear off quickly. Remeber, it is not a real tattoo! But it will last and look good long enough to test it with wearing different outfits to see if it works for you.

Week 3
Spending much time on a beach, we'd all like silky legs but not spending time every day to achieve that. As beach time is almost knocking on the door, here are some tips how to shave less in coming beach season.
1. Get closer shave. Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Exfoliate. This will bring hair completely out of the follicle and helping strands to get on the same growth cycle.
2. Pre-shave scrub. It will help remove any oil on the skin's surface, letting your razor get as close as possible.
3. Use a brush. Do you know that a rough-looking brush, primapily used on guy's face? You cannot imagine better tool to apply shaving cream or gel. Old barbers say, it's the way to get the closest shave.
4. Pick the best razor. If suffering from dry skin, you should pick options made with moisturizing strips. For the sleekest results, always use a razor with multiple blades and a fresh one every time.
5. Fight regrowth. Hydrating your stems with a lotion that contains soy help, studies say.
6. Vitamin B6. Adding more meat and fish or bananas, cabbage, broccoli, water melon and carrots, if you are a vegetarian, is a good addition to warding off stubble.
7. Sugar. If constant shaving is tiring you, sugar is known as a natural laser. Make a gel out of sugar, lemon and water. The soothing mixture slows the sprouting of strands.

Rosemary for energy or lemon to lift you up ... us the power of essential oils to create pleasant smells and, even more importantly, a different quality of energy.

Week 1
Spending endless hours on the beach while trying to catch a perfect wave (or foam, if beginner), us girls all end up with the same problem – dry, straw like hair.
Wanna keep long, sun bleached surfer hair, that is more soft and silky? Here are best two tips SingleFinSoul Girl ever tried:
1) Wet your hair before you make your way to the waves: Hair is much like a sponge, capable of absorbing water and other substances. Having it absorb regular water first will prevent it from absorbing the salt.
2) Put conditioner in your hair: Apply a considerable amount of conditioner on your hair. Don't worry, with thick hair it surely will not get rinsed out even with wipeout. If your hair is more thin, braid it. It will give even more protection to your hair.
